What is Rimeso?
Rimeso is a free Android app for making new friends, wherever you live. You are matched into a small circle with a few people who share an interest and a language, you all get one thoughtful question a day (the Daily Spark), and you get to know each other through your answers, comments and private chat. There is also an anonymous Vent Room for harder days.
Is Rimeso another social network?
Not the kind you are used to. There is no public feed, no follower count and no algorithm deciding what you see. You belong to one small circle, you answer one question a day, and you can talk one-to-one with the people in your circle. It is slow on purpose, because closeness needs room to breathe.
Who is Rimeso for?
People aged 16 and over, anywhere in the world, who want closer friendships than social media gives them: students and young professionals, people who moved to a new city or country, people who feel lonely even when they are surrounded by others, and anyone who prefers a few low-pressure conversations to a crowd. Rimeso is English-first and open in more than 60 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and most of Europe.
Who can see my answers?
Only the members of your circle. Your answers never appear publicly, never show in a feed and are never indexed by search engines. People outside your circle cannot see you on Rimeso.
Can I chat privately with people in my circle?
Yes. You can message any member of your circle one-to-one: text, photos, link previews, replies to a specific message (swipe it or long-press it), likes with a double tap, typing indicators and read ticks. Chat messages disappear after 7 days. You can delete a message for yourself or for everyone, block or report someone, and turn off messages from others in your privacy settings. If one of you leaves the circle, the chat becomes read-only.
Is the Vent Room really anonymous?
Yes. When you post in the Vent Room your identity is stripped before it reaches other members, and the admin tools do not show who posted what either. Only the minimum data needed for safety moderation is kept.
How big is a circle?
Small, by design. Circles are kept to a handful of people so everyone gets heard. You are matched by an interest you pick, your language and where you live, so the people you meet already have something in common with you.
Who writes the daily questions?
The Rimeso team writes and reviews every question. Each one is written for an interest and a mood, so it invites a story instead of a yes or no.
Can I use Rimeso outside India?
Yes. Rimeso is for people everywhere, not only in India, where it started. It is open in more than 60 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and most of the rest of Europe, and anyone who is happy to chat in English can use every feature. Rimeso first looks for an active circle in your own country. If there is none yet, it can place you in a circle in a nearby country whose clock is within a couple of hours of yours, so the daily question still arrives at a sensible time. Otherwise you join or start a circle in your own country.
Which languages does Rimeso support?
Rimeso is English-first. Daily questions are in English and Hindi today (Hindi questions sometimes come in Hinglish, Hindi typed in English letters), and your circle shares one of those two languages. The app itself is available in English, Hindi, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian: it follows your phone language when it is one of these, and you can change it in your profile. The app language is separate from your circle language, so you can use the app in French or German and talk with your circle in English. Daily questions in more languages are on the way.
Is Rimeso a dating app?
No. Rimeso is for friendship. There are no profiles to swipe through and no dating match-making: you join a small group around a shared interest, everyone answers the same question, and friendships grow from the conversation.
Is Rimeso therapy or a crisis service?
No. Rimeso is a friendship and peer-support app, not therapy, medical care or a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in danger, contact your local emergency number. You can find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
Is Rimeso free?
Yes. The daily question, your circle, chat and the Vent Room are free. An optional subscription may add extras later, but the core of Rimeso stays free.
How many notifications will I get?
Few, and only useful ones: your daily question, replies and mentions in your circle, new chat messages, and an occasional gentle reminder. You can switch notifications off at any time in your phone settings.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time from Profile > Delete account in the app, or with the form at rimeso.in/delete-account. You are signed out on every device straight away, and your personal data is anonymised afterwards as described in the Privacy Policy.
